Nobuaki Takekawa: Nobuaki Takekawa

Overview

This exhibition will show the combination of his latest paintings from the series of Cicada's eclosion and I, a new painting and a installation work. In Cicada's eclosion and I, he combined the portrait of his family or himself and the repeating timelines of 7 years that Cicadas spend in the ground by the day of their eclosion. The other painting and installation work were inspired by Manila clam. He used the pattern of its shell, called Zonate Spot as the motif of these two works

What make him interested are decorative quality and the scenery made by accumulation of time. That is to say, it seems to suggest viewers that human's original scenery has come from nature. The yacht, installed on the floor which shows the annual ring by the pattern of Manila clam's Zonate Spot, is the metaphor for time travelling. The exhibition will let viewers trip down their memory lanes.
