※Although new large ore veins were discovered one after another, rumors of environmental pollution spread, making it difficult to attract workers.Mine manager Kimura Chōbei invited a sumo wrestling event in 1885 and scattered 1,500 one-yen silver coins (equivalent to approximately 20,000 yen today) among the audience to showcase the prosperity of the mine.
※次々に大鉱脈が発見するが公害の噂も流れて思うように労働者が集まらない。鉱長木村長兵衛は1885年に大相撲の興行を呼び、客席で観客に一円銀貨(当時の1円は現代の2万円程度)を1500枚ばら撒き景気の良さをアピールした。
