芮娜‧芭内姬(Rina Banerjee) 是后殖民族裔离散议题最重要的艺术家之一，她的作品错综复杂、令人着迷。芭内姬成长于印度混合文化的社区加尔各答，现今以纽约为据点活跃于艺术界。其具多面性的作品反映出宛如艺术家自身般地刚柔兼并、东西融合。无论是雕刻或是绘画，芭内姬透过拼贴的技法，使相异世界共存于同一画面中，恰当地呈现出城市生活体验的密度感。芭内姬于雕刻创作时所使用的各式媒材，尽管是在传统市场中容易找到的物件，却都是艺术家根据产地而有意选择。艺术家运用羽毛、织品、树脂制动物角、珠子、雨伞等各种物件以探索人类学、民族志学、神话，甚至是印度侨民问题。芭内姬将现成的媒材分解，藉由手作重塑，将它们重构成对其所属的都市、后殖民、移民社会的精妙隐喻。

芮娜‧芭内姬(Rina Banerjee)，1963年出生于印度加尔各答，于耶鲁大学艺术学院取得MFA学位，现居纽约。重要展览包括，“Rina Banerjee: Make Me a Summary of the World”Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts，费城（2019）、“釜山双年展”F1963 (KISWIRE Suyeong Factory)，釜山（2016）、“Greater New York”MoMA PS1，纽约（2015・2005）、“第55届威尼斯双年展”，威尼斯（2013）、“第7届亚太三年展”Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Art Gallery，布里斯本（2012）、“横滨三年展2011 - Our Magic Hour”、BankART 1929,横浜(2011) 、“惠特尼双年展”Whitney Museum of American Art,纽约（2000）等。美术馆收藏包括，Centre Georges Pompidou（巴黎）、Fondation Louis Vuitton pour l'Art Contemporain（巴黎）、Whitney Museum of American Art（纽约）。
