I often use pink in my paintings because I believe it is a color with two sides. It can evoke feelings of temptation and desire, yet also convey a sense of gentleness and feminine calm. Pink symbolizes sweetness and softness, but at times it can also express firmness and strength. In my earlier works, I tended to use purer and more vibrant shades, but in this piece, I chose a darker and more subdued tone.

Homesickness 2 This piece continues from Homesickness 1, extending my exploration of the enduring and grand emotion of homesickness. I wanted to transform this abstract feeling into visual fragments—small animals and tears—reminiscent of a child’s innocent drawings.

私は作品の中でよくピンク色を使います。それは、この色が二つの側面を持つと感じているからです。ピンクは誘惑や欲望を想起させる一方で、優しさや女性的な穏やかさも表現することができます。甘さや柔らかさの象徴でありながら、同時に強さや芯のある印象も与える色です。以前は純度が高く鮮やかなピンクを多く用いていましたが、今回はより落ち着いた、深みのあるトーンを選びました。

ハムスター《Homesickness 2》《Homesickness 1》の延長線上にある作品です。郷愁という感情は本来壮大で持続的なものですが、私はその抽象的な感情を、子どもの落書きのような可愛らしい動物や涙といった具象的な断片に変換したいと考えました。
