Overview
Ota Fine Arts Singapore is pleased to present "Every Day I Pray for Love", an exhibition featuring new and recent works by Yayoi Kusama, offering a compelling glimpse into her ever-evolving artistic expression. This exhibition will showcase over 30 paintings from the Every Day I Pray for Love series, alongside the sculpture installation, The Universe as Seen from the Stairway to Heaven (2021), shown for the first time in Singapore.

Hung on the walls of the gallery is Kusama’s latest series of paintings, Every Day I Pray for Love (2021 - present). Upon entering, viewers are greeted with familiar expressions of polka dots and nets – motifs that have long defined Kusama’s visual language. As one moves further into the space, richer variations of these expressions begin to unfold. Moving beyond the infinity nets and polka dots, the exhibition features a salon-style presentation of works from the series that are characterised by figurative and amorphous forms. Face profiles, organic shapes, looping lines, and rhythmic patterns move fluidly across the surface, creating a dynamic sense of movement and continuity.

Resting at the centre of the gallery space is The Universe as Seen from the Stairway to Heaven (2021).This impressive sculptural installation invites the viewer to peep through a series of circular windows into a cubic space, within which reflections of one’s face appear to float among a kaleidoscope of coloured bubbles.

Ota Fine Arts Singapore invites all to experience the remarkable oeuvre of Yayoi Kusama. Through her vibrant paintings and an immersive sculpture installation, visitors are invited to engage with Kusama’s enduring explorations of infinity, perception, and the boundless possibilities of our imagination.
