The "Spirit Above All" Stone (2017—ongoing) is a continuous series of work in which Zhao Yao works together with a local Tibetan artisan that carves Mani stone. From 2017 onwards, in the same manner that local Mani stones are carved, he started to carve the statement "Spirit Above All" (བསམ་བློའ ི་མཐོ་ ཚད་ཀུན་གྱི་མཆོག) in Tibetan onto stones of different sizes. Through different forms and methods, these stones shall continually showcase and circulate the statement.
