I often use pink in my paintings because I believe it is a color with two sides. It can evoke feelings of temptation and desire, yet also convey a sense of gentleness and feminine calm. Pink symbolizes sweetness and softness, but at times it can also express firmness and strength. In my earlier works, I tended to use purer and more vibrant shades, but in this piece, I chose a darker and more subdued tone.

Two pleasures plus one (2)
The ears and lips are the softest parts of the human body, yet young people often pierce them with cold metal. Through this work, I wanted to create a sense of tension between softness and hardness, desire and whisper, pink and metallic tones — allowing a voyeuristic composition to evoke private and complex personal emotions.

私は作品の中でよくピンク色を使います。それは、この色が二つの側面を持つと感じているからです。ピンクは誘惑や欲望を想起させる一方で、優しさや女性的な穏やかさも表現することができます。甘さや柔らかさの象徴でありながら、同時に強さや芯のある印象も与える色です。以前は純度が高く鮮やかなピンクを多く用いていましたが、今回はより落ち着いた、深みのあるトーンを選びました。

ピアス《Two pleasures plus one (2)》
耳や唇は人の身体の中でも最も繊細で柔らかな部分ですが、若者たちはそこに冷たい金属のピアスを打ちます。その対比に惹かれ、この作品では「柔らかさと硬さ」「欲望とささやき」「ピンクとメタリックカラー」といった相反する要素の緊張感を描き出したいと考えました。覗き見るような構図によって、より個人的で複雑な感情の揺らぎを観る人に感じてもらえたらと思います。
